Do you want to write?
3 o’ clock In the Morning is my first book and I am aware I have a lot to learn. However I feel that it is important that we encourage each other, after all there is enough out there trying to do just the opposite.
Give me a minute to tell you how I started.
Firstly: I didn’t tell anyone I was actually writing a book. I thought that that way if I didn’t get round to finishing it I wouldn’t have to explain why.
Secondly: If I read it when it was finished and hated it no one would need to know there had ever been a book in the first place and so again I wouldn’t need to explain myself.
Thirdly: If I simply ran out of words I wouldn’t feel a failure if no one knew except me (and the Lord of course) and I knew he would pick me up, sort me out and set me off again.
BUT…I did finish it and I did like what I was reading so now I had a big hurdle facing me. I had to show my book to someone. People had to read what I had written and everyone as we all know has an opinion.
This was the hardest part for me after all this was my ‘baby’
I had laboured over this book, I had finally birthed this book and now I was handing it over to opinions, comments, criticism and worse still what if I was told that my beautiful baby was in fact, dare I say it ’ugly’‘
Thankfully my first Reader was kind, thoughtful and complimentary. Encouraged I moved on and the rest is as they say history.
I am saying all this to you just so you will know that I will be kind to your baby.
